Cooking competition for the 3rd year in Massari


For 3 consecutive years the Women's Association "Masarenes", with the support of Anko Academy, organized successfully on Sunday, February 24, the culinary competition where women from Malona participated. The celebration of the revival of our culture through the local gastronomy is now established as an institution of Rhodes.
 
In the competition a total of 57 dishes were competed in the categories cold plate, entrée land dessert, all cooked with care by the women of the village, highlighting local flavors, culture and tradition with the use of local authentic materials.
 
Judges
 
In the judging committee we had for one more year the excellent professors and Chef of Anko Mr. Manousakis, Mr. Fayklas, Mr Papanikolaou, Mr. Vassiliou, the dietician Mrs. Poullis while honored with their presence and the chairman of the Chefs Club of Dodekanese and Cyclades Mr. Christophoros Nikos and the general secretary Mr. Tzitzos Epaminondas and the executive Chef Mr. Svanas.
 
Guest Star of the event and judges of the National Range was the Chef Mrs. Maggie Tamakakis and the chef Manolis Papoutsakis, whom we have met in Junior Master chef.
 
Prizes
The first prize for the category Cold plate awarded a dish that performed for the first time at this competition, named "Vromoselina" and the winner was Mrs. Maria Artemaki. In equal digits was the dish "tart red pumpkin" cooked by Mrs. Stamatia Christofaki, for the category “entrée” was the dish "karavall Yachri" cooked by Mrs. Tsambika Gioyllaki. For the category “dessert” stood out the "Askinocarpos” cookies"  by Mrs. Emmanouela Eliadaki.
 
Congratulations to all the contestants for their participation and the excellent dishes!
 
The event took plase due to bad weather at a coffee bar of the village with live music from the band of Giorgos Vogiatzis, while the dance groups of the traditional assossiations "Kamiri" and "Theraklos" took part.
 
A communication sponsor was radio Archangel with presenter Eleonira Donra.
 
Many of people attended and tasted all the tasty creations of the contestants while they had a great time dancing.
 
During the event, the world was offered treats, were made by the pastry departments of Anko Academy with the pastry chef Savvis Costas and his students. Also, the dishes that were offered to the judges and the world, were made by the students of the hotel Management under the guidance of Professor and Mr. Theodosis Kovios.
